Today I sat next to a couple on the plane who were on their way to Las Vegas to get married. I was prompted to share this poem with them by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
What if you slept And what if In your sleep You dreamed
And what if In your dream You went to heaven
And there plucked a strange and beautiful flower
And what if When you awoke You had that flower in you hand
Ah, what then?
What if you dreamed again?
What disappointment stopped you from dreaming?
Maybe you kissed too many princes or princesses who turned into frogs.
Came across too many princes or princesses who wanted you to enthrone and worship them.
Missed the career opportunity of a lifetime?
My encouragement is that you dare to dream again.
Then wake up and make it happen.
And watch the flower appear in your hand.
